About Us
Woolrich is one of the world's premier names in clothing and products
for the outdoor lifestyle. Founded over 175 years ago, it is one of the oldest continuously
operating companies in the United States. Its name has long been synonymous with quality and value.
Woolrich got its start in 1830 when a young man named John Rich built his first
woolen mill in Plum Run, Pennsylvania. By 1845 he'd built a new mill a couple of miles away, in what
is now Woolrich, Pennsylvania--still the company's headquarters.
Originally, John Rich traveled from logging camp to logging camp selling fabric,
socks, coverlets, and yarn to lumbermen from the back of a mule cart. From this modest beginning,
Woolrich grew and developed more sophisticated products and new production methods to meet the
needs of a growing nation.
Woolrich has evolved into a lifestyle brand with products--everything
from clothing to accessories for the home--sold throughout the world. The Woolrich name
continues to be prized by folks who appreciate outdoor leisure and enjoyment of nature.
